I joined a REIT through a well-known Real Estate school and paid $1,500 for educational purposes that were not provided. We purchased properties and paid for construction, but the work stalled after our second payment. The director used his brother's company for construction without obtaining independent estimates as required by the agreement. We were also charged a monthly membership fee of $250 to attend meetings, which we believe is prolonging the construction to generate revenue for the school. What legal actions can be taken against the director and the school for these violations?

If I get divorced in Washington State after being legally married in California, does my wife get half of everything I brought to the marriage, such as my house, truck, van, boat, vacation property, and cash? We have only been married for 5 years.

In civil court, if a Defendant's lawyer fails to disclose after both a granted motion to disclose AND a subsequently served Duces Tecum Subpoena, is that lawyer in Default, Contempt of Court, just "out of compliance," or all of the above? Would a Civil Court Justice of the Peace grant a Default Judgement in such a case, impose sanctions, or what? This situation exists in the state of Arizona, and the lawyer is a Corporate Attorney.

Two FBI agents came to my door claiming they were canvassing the neighborhood for a criminal investigation involving a neighbor. I didn't see them talk to anyone else and I'm wondering if they were using the 'canvass' as a ruse. Do they lie about such things?

I served some papers for a Pro Se litigant who won his case in California. He has sent me a Judgment from a California Superior Court, the Minutes from an Appeal (Trial De Novo), the Court Clerk's Certification of Mailing, and a copy of the Plaintiff's Claim and Order from small claims court. He asked me to file these documents at the Denton County Courthouse in Texas. Is this something that can be done in Texas, and what is the process for filing out-of-state judgments?
