I filed a civil lawsuit against my ex-attorney for professional negligence. He did not file his response until 34 days after he was served. May I request a default judgment because he filed after the 30-day deadline? Additionally, I need guidance on how to proceed with my case, including whether I can amend my complaint to include fraud and breach of contract, and how to file a motion to strike his pleadings as untimely.

I am living apart from my husband since 2019 and we own properties together. Recently, my husband was involved in a personal injury case at work, and I am concerned about my future and retirement being jeopardized. I want to know if a legal separation and transferring my property to my name is possible and legal to protect myself and my daughter.

How do I fill out the form for restitution? Do I need to ask for the exact amount the contractor has taken from me or do I need to ask for the total amount that it will cost me for another contractor to come in and complete my project?

My husband, a Navy Commander, fears the Navy will find out about an issue, but believes his rank will prevent discharge or loss of rank. However, he may lose retirement money and health services. If he does, a 'Contract' sounds better than nothing, which is what I will be left with if he loses everything. Should I consider a long divorce? He retires in 2 years.

I am a small business owner of a Day Care. I discovered that one of my employees, who is from Brazil, allowed her work permit to expire. She is one of my best employees and is in the process of re-filing her work permit. My concern is about legal obligations should something happen while she is still employed at my center. Should I be concerned?
