My lease has been terminated by the new landlord, and I live in Connecticut. I received a letter stating that I need to move with no reason given. I am elderly and partially disabled, and I have been a tenant for 9 years. Is this termination the same as eviction, and can I be forced to move out without a valid reason? I have a disqualifying offense from 2014 (robbery ORC 2911.02) for employment in Ohio, where I would manage grants from the DOJ for the local health department. Despite my long-term sobriety, master's degree, and certification as a chemical dependency counselor, I am concerned about being hired. What are the chances that the human resource department may still allow me to be employed despite my disqualification? I need help interpreting this law!
