I have a restraining order against me that was issued by a family member 5 years ago. I want to get it dismissed. How serious is this situation, do I need a lawyer to help me, and what would be the average cost of hiring a lawyer? If I could handle it myself, what would be the cost?

I have an active warrant in Texas for an unresolved traffic violation in 2010 and my Louisiana driver's license is now expired. I now live in Montgomery County TX but my warrant/violation was in Orange County TX. I called their city court and they informed me that they don't see a hold placed on my DL, but if I try to go get a Texas DL in Montgomery County is there a chance that I'll be arrested at the DMV?
