A former employee was terminated for gross misconduct under an Employment Contract with my LLC. The contract stipulated that severance is not payable under such conditions. The employee passed away, and now his spouse is suing for the severance payment. The contract also states that upon the employee's death, the estate is entitled to base compensation and bonus earned up to the date of death. The employee was paid base compensation earned up to termination, but no bonus was earned. Can the estate sue for the severance payment, and if so, what are the legal implications?

We live about two blocks from a hotel where prostitutes and drug deals are constantly happening. The police have performed multiple raids and have asked the owner to help control the crime, but he refuses. Can I sue the owner to clean up their business?

As a caregiver for a 90-year-old client who is of sound mind and lives independently, I have received financial assistance and a car as a gift from him. The bank reported possible exploitation to Adult Protective Services (APS), who questioned my client and are now investigating. If my client is of sound mind and has willingly given these gifts and financial assistance, is there a need to charge me with exploitation? Can APS disregard his clear mental state and proceed with an investigation? What is the process of this investigation, and when will I be notified if there is one? As a professional caregiver, was it wrong for me to accept these gifts and financial assistance?

My vehicle was towed in Seattle based on the officer's suspicion that my car was stolen. The officer never received my confirmation that my vehicle was stolen. The Seattle Police left a voicemail asking if my vehicle had been stolen, but by the time I got to my voicemails, my car was towed. Do I have a case to sue the police officer for police harassment and the towing expense?
