I live in an apartment building with fire alarms in each bedroom that go off frequently due to smoke from the kitchen and tests. The alarm in my baby's room is 8 feet from his crib and is extremely loud, causing trauma to my 6-month-old child. I am the owner of the apartment and have been told by the HOA that I cannot disconnect the alarm without facing fines from the company that installed the alarms and the fire department. What are my rights and what legal options do I have to disconnect this alarm in my baby's room legally?
