I live in Colorado and need to know the law regarding abandonment of personal property. I was trying to remove my property from an apartment I shared, but the situation became volatile, and I had to wait for things to cool off. I remained the only person on the lease and was the only one paying rent. The other person stayed in the apartment with her six kids and took my belongings. We were taken to court and evicted due to harassment, which led to me losing my job and being unable to pay rent. The judge had a hard time believing the property was not abandoned because the police were not called to remove people from the apartment. Additionally, there has been damage to a vehicle, auto theft, and credit card theft four times. What are the legal steps I should take regarding my abandoned property and the other issues?

The company union contract for employees hired under an old contract states that they do not have to travel between locations, unlike new employees. Some locations are more than 60 miles from home and travel is not compensated. One employee under the old contract only travels to a store close to her home, placing the burden of traveling greater distances on others. My thoughts are that once she is willing to go to any store regardless of the distance, that should void her old contract and she should be required to travel to other stores as well, to make travel more fair to the rest of us. Is this considered unfair labor practices?

My daughter, a minor, was accused of possible shoplifting on a military installation in Germany. She was not apprehended or observed taking any items, but was identified by video leaving the dressing room with a friend who discarded a package. No charges have been filed. Does she need to provide a statement to the MPs, and can she be charged as a minor even though she did not take anything?

My ex-husband has a decree to pay me alimony for 60 months. He did not pay January's and February's payments. Month 60 is May 2017. I am going to take him to court without an attorney, essentially small claims, since the amount is relatively small. He is required to pay me $1,900 a month. If I cannot get him to pay the final five months totaling $9,500, can I get his wages garnished? Can I get other related costs paid as well? I live in Salt Lake City, Utah.

I hired an attorney for a DUI case, but after hearing rumors and seeing reviews, I want to fire him. It's only been 2 business days since we met, and he hasn't done anything yet. Can I fire him without a reason, and how should I go about it? Additionally, since I paid him $1500 upfront, can I get my money back, and how should I request it?
