I moved into a house with friends last July, and we discussed improvements with the landlord, such as replacing a broken dishwasher, adding trim, and repainting the bathroom due to black mold. The landlord did not fulfill these promises in a timely manner, and the work done was subpar. We contacted Delaware Health and Human Services, who found additional issues like lack of fire alarms and mold around the kitchen sink. The landlord eventually made some repairs, but they were unsatisfactory. We gave the landlord a letter stating our intent to move out in 60 days due to his neglect. Does anyone know if I have a legal case to get out of my lease, or must I stay for the next 7 months?
