I need to file a third-party lawsuit for my father who was injured in December 2008 while employed. The company did not have workers' comp insurance, and he did not receive necessary rehab. Medical bills exceed $500,000, and the statute of limitations for a lawsuit is two years from the injury. My father was taken off work in March 2009 due to complications from his injury and has since gone for permanent disability through social security, receiving SSI. How should we proceed, and why can't I find an attorney in California to take this case?

If I let a 1099 cleaning person come back to work with an illness that is being treated, but the doctor has released her to come back to work without any restrictions, will I or my business be held liable if this illness causes her to cause an accident or injury to herself or others, will my business and myself be free of any liability that this could or may cause? The doctor has fully released her to come back to work even though this illness can come and go at random. I own a cleaning business.

I'm trying to get my $3000.00 deposit back from my landlord. I moved out of the apartment at the end of May, 2010. The landlord said I would get it back in 2 weeks, but I still haven't received it and I need it. He always has an excuse. Please help me.

Workers' comp is paying my bills, but the hospital will not code all the bills submitted with the correct billing codes and instead puts them on my credit report. I don't have $26,000+ to pay these. What can I do?

What is the likely outcome if we take our case with DYFS to court, given that I tested positive for marijuana when I gave birth, and we are currently complying with a case plan that includes drug and alcohol classes, AA meetings, and random drug tests?
