I am fighting a wrongful termination from federal employment. The charges against me stem from an incident report where I reported a verbally abusive coworker. Is it common for a judge to ask for all evidence in chambers before a civil trial and then refuse to rule in person due to laryngitis, instead opting to issue a written opinion at a later date? The judge in Michigan asked for all evidence in October and was supposed to make a ruling within two weeks, but this hasn't happened yet.
