I was discharged from the Chicago Police Dept. in 1993 due to racial discrimination. I received an award in 2009 stating I was discharged by racial discrimination, but the award did not correct issues about back pay and pension. At a mediation in 2011, I requested reinstatement and for my records to reflect retirement in good standing with full rights and benefits. My attorney recently informed me that the city's lawyers would not reinstate me but would put the award in my personal jacket, and I am entitled to pension despite drawing down money in 1994. I believe they don't want to reinstate me because it would require them to allow me to replace the money and receive my pension. What they have offered does nothing to make me whole. I need the NAACP to step in and get involved in this ongoing racial discrimination. In my opinion, this is a 'HATE CRIME' and a conspiracy to continue the original systematic racial discrimination and defy the court's ruling. What would you like to know?
