I was paid late by my employer, UC-Berkeley, and missed my rent payment. I was served a 3-day notice, and finally got my cashier's check for this month, the late fees, and my upcoming month of rent, delivered to the landlord this morning. I then received an Unlawful Detainer summons. Since I've already paid the amount I'm being sued for, I need to know exactly how to contest the eviction, including what forms to use and how to file them, especially given the holiday and my upcoming travel.
