I have 2 friends who are codefendants in a criminal case. After the arraignment, there was a no-contact order that I was unaware of. I communicated with both friends to check on their well-being, and I also informed them about each other's situation. I am now worried that this communication might harm their case. In a civil case in Federal Court, where is the actual tort committed in cases of online harassment, defamation, e-mailing of obscene images, and intentional infliction of emotional distress? Is it in the forum of the person who sent it, or the forum of the person who is targeted?

My girlfriend took out a loan 10 years ago, which was sold to a collection agency. The agency obtained a default judgment, and her salary is now being garnished. She never received a summons, and the collection agency is seeking a higher amount than the original loan. What can we do at this time?

Does a building restriction ever expire? There is a subdivision with multiple commercial lots. The subdivision was originally restricted to 2 mid-size hotel lots. The 2 hotel lots were sold back in 2004/2005. There are two hotels of about 200 rooms built on them in 2005. There is a third vacant lot. Would I need the permission of the existing hotel owners to build a hotel, or do restrictions on property use inside a subdivision expire over time?
