My wife was injured at a resort in Mexico and was forced to pay a $6600 deposit at a hospital under duress. The hospital now wants an additional $6700, which we don't have. Can they sue us through their American billing office, and can we sue them for medical malpractice due to the poor quality of service and additional surgeries required in the US?

An individual who owes me over $45,000 in a personal loan is threatening to sue me for assault, despite no such incident occurring. He has sent me a photo with a scar on his face, claiming I caused it, in an attempt to avoid repaying the loan. I have a signed agreement for the loan and all necessary proofs. What legal actions can I take to protect myself and ensure repayment?

Can a verbal agreement have the same legal power as a written agreement, especially in cases where the terms were discussed and agreed upon over multiple phone conversations, and how can one protect themselves from potential disputes or changes in agreed terms?

How involved is a social worker from APS allowed to get and what is considered unethical behavior by them? My aunt, who lives independently in a luxury condo building, has some dementia but is otherwise fully functional. A social worker from APS has been very aggressive in calling and putting pressure on the homecare agency, despite the fact that a homecare agency has been put in place and my aunt will receive an aide a few times a week. The social worker is also suggesting more hours of care than necessary and is misleading about my aunt's condition. I have been told that there have been cases in which APS social workers have unethically used tactics with elders who live in more luxury buildings, potentially to become a guardian and make decisions as they see fit. Is it up to an elder's family members to decide the amount of care the elder should have, and not the APS social worker? How should I respond to the social worker's pressure for more hours of care for my aunt?

I need a lawyer to help me collect a debt that was court-ordered. I am in Connecticut, have won the case up to the appellate court, and have all necessary documents. What steps should I take to find a lawyer, and what are the typical payment arrangements for such services?

I purchased two dogs last summer and returned them to the breeder due to unforeseen circumstances. I did not surrender them and have been paying monthly boarding fees. The breeder is now refusing to return the dogs, claiming I surrendered them, which I did not. I have proof of all transactions and communication history. I want my dogs back. What legal actions can I take, and do I need to find a lawyer in Arkansas to file a case since the breeder is in Arkansas?
