On January 10, 2020, I received a traffic ticket for 'fail to yield right of way at stop sign' in Hanover County, VA. A court date was set for February 18, 2020. The summons form offers the option to pay the fine and fees by mail, but requires a 'Waiver of a Trial (Plea of Guilty).' The form states I have the right to plead guilty, not guilty, or nolo contendere, but it's unclear if I can plead nolo contendere on the form or only in court. Can I change the 'Plea of Guilty' on the form to Nolo Contendere and pay the fine/fees by mail without going to court?

I filed an Order to Show Cause (OSC) with the Civil Court of NY requesting that it vacate a judgment based on misconduct of the adverse party and their agents. I also requested that the Defendants be held in Criminal and Civil Contempt of court since the judgment was procured fraudulently. The original judge who signed the Order is out this term, and I have been waiting for my OSC to be signed for one and a half months. I was advised by the judicial assistant to convert my OSC into a motion, but I want it to remain an OSC and go in front of a new judge. How do I proceed?

I was served with an UNFILED Summons and Petition for Dissolution of marriage on 7/23. In reviewing the papers, I discovered that there was no date of separation specified. A few days later, I went to the court house to file a response and was told that the case had not been filed yet, so my response could not be filed. I checked the court website and discovered that the case had finally been filed. I had not been served with filed papers, so I went to the court to get a copy of the papers and discovered that the papers that were filed were the exact 'unfiled' papers that I was served with. Again, there was no date of separation specified. The court clerk told me that my time to file a response was from the date I was served the unfiled version of the paperwork. How can a Petition be filed with the court with no date of separation specified, which is a critical date, and how can I be served with unfiled paperwork - there wasn't even a case number?

I have been making extra payments towards the principal of my land loan, but the loan holder, Galen Dodds, has been using all the extra money for monthly interest payments instead. I am paid up on regular payments until 03/15/13, and I recently sent six more $600 checks to cover the next six months. I want to ensure that these checks are used fully for the principal, not just for monthly payments with interest. What are my legal options if Mr. Dodds continues to misapply my payments and does not respond to my requests to correct this?
