On March of this year, I got my car stolen and was assaulted by 3 people and a woman who set me up. I filed a police report but no arrests were made. Can I sue them to pay my medical bills, and if so, are there any lawyers in Connecticut who can help me with that?

Can an independent contractor charge our company for commuting to and from his home? We are in California, and the contractor is charging our church $10k per month for his services as an interim pastor. He has included in his contract that he wants us to reimburse him and his team for mileage to/from their homes plus any other transportation, hotel stays, meals, etc. Is this standard practice, and if not, how long do we have to back out of a contract we signed in California?
