I am experiencing numbness, mainly on my right side arm and leg, and sometimes on the left side. This started with numbness on the left side of my left big toe and has spread. I also feel phantom sensations like a hair on my nose. I hurt my shoulder two months ago lifting a heavy object and haven't seen a doctor in 4-5 years. I haven't been tested for diabetes or thyroid disease. What could be causing this numbness and what should I do?

I have been under doctors' care since November trying to find out why I am coughing. The cough has worsened despite being tested for reflux and being on Nexium for a month. Is it possible that I may have a pinched nerve or blockage causing difficulty in breathing, especially when lying down? My left leg feels like it's going to sleep during coughing spells, and my left ear feels pressured. Should I go to the emergency room or wait and call my GP on Monday?
