I am coughing nonstop and have head congestion, sinus drainage, and full ears with fluid bilaterally. The cough comes and goes, sometimes dry but often with phlegm, and I recently threw up due to it. I have no chest tightness and am taking Tylenol and Motrin. I am 62 years old, a nurse, and have a tendency for elevated BP. My husband has been sick, so I took a half dose of his prescribed promethazine-DM. I have had intermittent fever and clear phlegm. I am allergic to sulfa and smoke occasionally. The symptoms started on Friday but have worsened tonight. I tested negative for COVID. What could be causing these symptoms and what should I do?
