Should I stop taking Metoprolol before Benazepril? I am a 54-year-old white male with high blood pressure, experiencing vision issues, fatigue, dizziness, and anxiety. I have been prescribed Metoprolol, Amlodipine, and Benazepril, but I feel like a zombie and am concerned about the side effects. My blood pressure is still not well-controlled, and I am worried about rebound hypertension if I stop the beta blocker.

I had shoulder surgery in June for impingement, bursa removal, and shaving of the labrum and rotator cuff. The pain has returned in a different location, and I'm concerned about possibly tearing the rotator cuff again. I've had shots, anti-inflammatory medications, and physical therapy, but I don't want to go through another year of treatment without improvement. Should I consider surgery again, and is it reasonable to prefer surgery if it's the only way to address the issue effectively?
