I am in severe pain due to impacted wisdom teeth. The gum flap over the tooth is swollen, and the pain has spread to my throat, lymph nodes, and causes headaches. I have been taking Advil for a week without significant relief. I am scheduled for extraction on January 15th. What can I do to relieve the pain and swelling until then?

I presented at urgent care last week with a swollen index finger. I was given Augmentin pills, but my finger still hurts a lot and is swollen from the knuckle to the mid finger joint.
