I am taking birth control pills and instead of taking the inactive pills, I went right into a new pack. Now I have been bleeding for about 5 days. It seems like it's more blood each day while taking active pills. Not enough to wear a pad, but when I wipe, there is a lot of blood on the tissue. How long should I expect to continue bleeding and should I continue taking the active pills?

My 81-year-old father has severe edema and ulcerating sores. He was treated with Unna Boots for eight weeks, but the sores reappeared after removal. He is currently taking double doses of Lasix and potassium chloride, and has redness around his ankles after wearing compression socks. His legs also show signs of scaliness and a scabbed ulcer. Should I be concerned about the medical advice he's receiving, and if the sores return within 24 hours, should I seek another opinion?
