I have a 1.2cm thyroid nodule with biopsy results showing follicular neoplasm. My doctor recommends a partial thyroid removal, stating that even if it is cancer, only a partial removal is required. I am on thyroid medication for the last 22 years and want clarification on why a total thyroid removal would not be necessary if it is cancer.
