I have a low blood platelet count (139) which was detected during a routine blood check for high blood pressure. I am on blood pressure medications (amlodopine and ramipril) and have been for over 10 years. What could be causing my low platelet count and what can I do about it?

I have had a painless white coated tongue for over a year now. I often feel dehydrated and have a cotton mouth sensation, which temporarily improves when I eat or drink water.
