Beverly J. asked
I have been having ear problems for over a month now. My ears feel full, with no pain, no runny nose, and no headaches, but occasional mild nausea. I was diagnosed with acute serous otitis media and rhinosinusitis. I had an allergic reaction to penicillin in the past and am hesitant to take Roxithromycin due to its ototoxic side effects. I have taken amoxicillin without a reaction and was told CEFDINIR (cephalosporin antibiotic) would work. My questions are: 1) Can you confirm that an antibiotic is appropriate to resolve my condition? 2) If I didn't have a reaction to amoxicillin, should I take that? I'm concerned about a delayed allergic reaction. 3) Will a cephalosporin class antibiotic work for this condition, and should I take that instead? 4) Is there another form of treatment I should consider?

I was walking to a coworker's office when my thigh began to hurt, and the pain extended into the knee area within 2-3 minutes. I have not taken any medication for the pain and am trying to determine if I need to make an appointment or go to urgent care. I am on 25mg of hydrochlorothiazide for blood pressure. Is there any redness and swelling in the calf or anywhere else?

How do medications like Percocet get processed in the digestive tract of someone with a j-pouch, and could the fast transit time due to frequent bowel movements affect the duration of pain relief? Is there a better formulation or delivery method that could be more effective for my condition?

I have a question about drug testing. I am worried about a pre-employment drug test and a potential false positive. I have had 7 knee surgeries and a major hip reconstruction, and I have chronic pain. I don't take any prescribed painkillers or illegal drugs, but I do take Kratom occasionally. It is legal in my state. Will a 10-panel urine test detect Kratom, and how does it detect it if it is not illegal?
