I am at the hospital until I give birth in a week. The night nurse came in today to flush my IV. She opened the lid part and dropped it on my pillow. I was still sleepy but she got a few drops before I pulled away and told her the pillow is dirty. She apologized and got a new one. My question is, what are the risks for infection from the IV tip having a few drops, and if there is a risk, how long until it would show and what is the effect on the baby?

I found a black mark under my big toe. It is roughly 1 cm away from the left side of my toe and about 2 cm up in the middle, not growing from the bottom of my toe. I have a propensity for ingrown toes/fungus, but this mark is in the center, away from usual sites. I am 27, female, with fair skin/eyes and approximately 50 moles/freckles. I am concerned that this could be melanoma.
