I have an appointment with a dermatologist in two weeks. What could these symptoms indicate, and is there any immediate treatment I can try?

My husband has a hiatal hernia and is experiencing chest pain, shortness of breath, a bulging upper stomach, persistent heartburn, possible blood in his stool, and extreme tiredness. He has been taking heartburn medication (Prilosec) but the symptoms have not improved.
