My 5-year-old daughter has had a persistent cough for 5 weeks, which has worsened. It started with cold symptoms and now includes a barking, wet cough with chest congestion. She has a build-up of fluid in her nasal area, and her cough is accompanied by bronchial irritation. No medicine seems to help, and she has been drinking plenty of fluids. What could be causing this and what can be done to help her?
