I was hospitalized in Japan twice this past summer with fever, weakness, high blood infection, leg swelling, and edema. I had intravenous antibiotics for 5 days and got better both times. Blood tests showed indications of liver disease. CT, MRI, and throat camera were all inconclusive. The doctor said it may be pre-liver cancer and scheduled another throat camera for December. I have alcohol cirrhosis but have not drunk for 11 years. The doctor questioned this, saying my liver should have regenerated to some extent but does not seem to have. There is a 5cm shadow in the MRI that cannot be identified as a tumor. Why are the findings so inconclusive?

If a lap pad was left in the body during liver transplantation behind the donor liver, could that cause mild acute rejection due to being in contact with the liver? Additionally, could the lap pad have affected my tacrolimus dosages and 12-hour blood levels, especially considering the donor liver had 40-50% steatosis?
