I am a 60-year-old male with a history of a previous knee injury. Recently, while installing lockers and kneeling on concrete, I experienced bad knee pain that shoots up the back of my thigh to my hip and down the front of my knee to the top of my ankle. The pain is severe enough that I need to hold onto something for 15-30 seconds after sitting for more than 5 minutes before I can walk. What could be causing this pain and what should I do about it?
