I have been paranoid for 9 years about possibly having an infection, specifically HIV, despite testing negative 10-11 weeks after exposure in 2013. I have had mild flu-like symptoms this year but no other symptoms. I am concerned about the reliability of my initial negative test and whether all necessary blood tests are performed on newborns if the mother tests negative for HIV. What should I do to alleviate my concerns?
