My husband inherited real estate from his mother in 1978, and I inherited it when he died in 2013. Now, I want to sell the real estate, but I'm unsure if the tax basis should be based on my husband's inheritance or his mother's original property value. Additionally, the property was inherited by both my husband and his brother, and both have since passed away, with my sister-in-law inheriting her husband's share and me inheriting my husband's share. What is the correct tax basis for each of our shares?

I earned income in Ohio last year for the first time but live in Oregon. I need to file Ohio taxes but am unsure which forms to use and if I can file them online. I worked 6 months on a contract for a company and tried to file through TurboTax but encountered issues. I also need to know if I should file jointly in Ohio if I am filing jointly in Oregon, and what to do if I am likely to get a small refund.

My parents had a new roof installed on their home. The company left the attic open and exposed for 2 days during rain, causing mold to form. They are not admitting responsibility and won't fix the problem. Their home owner's insurance won't cover mold removal either. They are elderly and on a fixed income, so money is tight. Can the cost of mold removal be deducted on their 2008 income taxes?
