I am a CPA with little experience in employee stock option plans. I am working on a return that shows the basis, and supplemental data shows the increase in basis for income. It's an employee stock purchase plan, and I'm reporting income from selling it too soon. I understand that part, but I'm confused about the entire basis being shown in box 12, coded V, not just the bargain element. The basis is 1204, and the box 12 number is *. If I add the 1210 to the 1099, I will get an artificial loss. Fidelity handles the account, and I feel the supplemental numbers they gave us were correct, but I don't understand the box 12 number, coded V. Is it possible they just have the box 12 number as inform?

I received a letter from the IRS stating I will be getting the Second Economic Impact Payment for $600, but I expected $1400. Why is this the case?

I am trying to find out if I am entitled to a 2021 stimulus check. I am 68 years old with no dependents. What is my typical filing status, and do you know roughly what I made this year?

I inherited a small amount of money from a class action lawsuit my mother was part of before she passed. I am trying to find out how much tax I have to pay. The IRS can't tell me. I am 59 years old, married filing jointly, made $60,000 in 2020, and have no dependents. I received $3,400 from the lawsuit, which was split between her heirs.
