My 4-year-old Fisher & Paykel side-by-side refrigerator with the freezer on the bottom has been causing issues for the past 4 months. The crisper drawers are freezing food, and we've been adjusting the temperature settings, but it either results in the crispers freezing while the top shelf is fine, or the crisper is fine but the refrigerator is too warm. What could be causing this and how do I fix it?

We have a Kenmore side-by-side refrigerator. The plastic pan where the ice is stored keeps breaking. We think it's because the ice maker is overproducing ice, which pushes down on the pan and causes it to crack. The pan is a plastic rounded bowl, and replacing it seems to require replacing the entire ice maker, which is expensive. Is this true, and is there a way to fix or prevent this issue?
