I have a Lenovo Thinkpad W541 with a 2880x1620 display, connected to a Samsung 27" LCD monitor with 1920x1080 resolution via a Lenovo USB 3.0 display adapter. I experience two main issues: 1) the second monitor blinks and shakes, turning completely black for up to 2 seconds about 10 times per minute and shaking every second; 2) the second monitor's image is compressed vertically, making it look like a widescreen and causing blurriness. These issues occur randomly, sometimes after rebooting. The main display also goes through random scaling settings at startup. I have an NVidia Quadro K2100M graphics card with the latest drivers installed, and the issues persist despite checking and reinstalling drivers. What do I need to do to ensure my second monitor maintains a steady 1920x1080 image?

Persons unknown installed a virus on my computer while I was using it. It locked with a message to call a phone number shown on the screen, asking me to pay $249.95 by credit card to remove the virus and free up my computer. I have Stop Sign anti-virus protection but it did not catch this threat. What can I do at this point? Can you provide help?
