We adopted a dog from a healthy environment. The previous owner wants to have a play date as they miss the dog greatly. We are open to it, but we're unsure about the timing and potential impact on our relationship with the dog. Is there a right time to set up a date? What is too soon? Do we risk going backwards with our relationship with the dog? Additionally, we have another dog in our family. My dog is already on carprofen for arthritis, but she is still in pain with the highest dose I can safely give (1mg per lb of body weight 2X a day). Can I use Dr. Jacobs original Pferdesalbe or any human pain cream as well? Or what else could I do for her?
