What factors can cause a high BAC (Blood Alcohol Content) reading? I recently had a CBC (Complete Blood Count) done in the ER that showed below normal calcium, potassium, sodium levels and elevated lymphocytes. The ethanol showed as 196 mg/dL. I only had approximately 30 oz of beer at 4.5% alcohol content. I weigh 120lbs and am a 47-year-old female. I had not eaten for 8 hours prior and realize this could speed the absorption rate. Based on a BAC calculator, I should have only measured at ~ .04 - .05 at the most. What factors, if any, might skew this reading?
