I am a guarantor for a business lease in South Carolina, and I would like to clarify a paragraph in the lease that states my liability will not be affected by any insolvency, bankruptcy, reorganization, receivership, or other debtor relief proceedings involving the tenant. If the business fails and I am held personally responsible, could a personal bankruptcy clear or negate my personal debt?
