As an interior designer, I have a contractor working on my client's house who sent me an invoice for subcontractor work without a change order or prior discussion, several months after work completion. The invoice includes charges for work redone due to our error and additional steps claimed by the contractor. I was given an all-inclusive cost initially. What are the legal implications of this situation, particularly regarding the timeframe for sending invoices and whether they can invoice me directly if my client is the technical client? I am in Washington state.
