I was arrested due to a failure to appear at a financial hearing in court. I was picked up from my home, handcuffed, and taken to a sheriff's office. Was that legal, and was I required to be read my rights? The arrest was based on a civil arrest warrant from my homeowner association. After the arraignment hearing, I was released on my own recognizance (OR), and the warrant was squashed. Do I now have a police record?
