I will receive a percentage of the retail price from the distributor. I do not want to start a business but will technically be the 'publisher' of the book. My questions are: 1) Can I use a business name like 'Monette Publishing' for advertising and image purposes without buying a county business license? 2) Can my checks from the distributor be made out to William L. Monette, dba Monette Publishing?
