My husband has a lawsuit filed against him in Oregon, and we live in Colorado. We have two homes together, some joint bank accounts, and autos. I also have a business in an S-Corp. Should I have him quit claim deed himself off the homes, and is my business protected if they go after his personal assets? Additionally, if we refinance a home in my name only, would it be seen as removing him quit claim? If we sell one of the homes, would we run into the same issues? Is it hard to get the lawsuit to Colorado to go after personal assets? And, would a divorce change anything?

I'm trying to get help with a deed of gift for my relatives' Chamorro Land Trust property on the island of Guam. She wants to give it to us, and the land lease agreement is for 99 years. How can we proceed with this transfer, and what documents are needed?

I have a Trial Setting Conference set for 12/05/2022 in a civil matter where I am representing myself. Among other things, I may need to choose between a bench trial or a jury trial. I am seeking advice on which might be the better choice and if a call next week could help me prepare.

I made a reservation through the Hilton Honors app for a 1-night stay at Homewood Suites in Gainesville, Texas, but had to cancel due to a family emergency. I was told to call the hotel directly for a refund, but the general manager refused to refund the paid stay, even though I never made the trip. I am a Diamond member and expect higher customer satisfaction. What steps can I take to resolve this issue and potentially receive a refund?

My wife and I were joint holders of a checking account with an elderly couple. After one of them passed away, the surviving spouse's son, who is now the power of attorney, wants us to return money from a check I wrote to myself. The check was written before he became the power of attorney, and we had a history of managing the account. Does he have any right to require the return of the money?
