My son, who is 27 years old and has been diagnosed with bipolar disorder since he was 12, is deeply devoted to the Catholic Church and wishes to become a priest. He has been stable since the age of 17, has completed a degree in religious studies, and has held a full-time job. Despite his stability and qualifications, his dream of serving the church is dismissed due to his diagnosis. Is it a definite 'no' for him, or are there exceptions or other religious orders he could pursue? Is there any advice on how to approach this situation?
