I live in an apartment building with fire alarms in each bedroom that go off frequently due to smoke from the kitchen and tests. The alarm in my baby's room is 8 feet from his crib and is extremely loud, causing trauma to my 6-month-old child. I am the owner of the apartment and have been told by the HOA that I cannot disconnect the alarm without facing fines from the company that installed the alarms and the fire department. What are my rights and what legal options do I have to disconnect this alarm in my baby's room legally?

I have a legal question regarding establishing ownership of a family heirloom. My Dad gave me a musket verbally in 1997, but I left it at my parents' house. My older brother took it after my Dad's death, claiming he has legal documentation proving his ownership. Can I establish legal ownership of this musket prior to him taking it and have the courts force him to return it, or am I wasting my time?
