We put a deposit down on 3/4/2019 to rent a house, but we changed our mind. The landlord said we can't get the money back. What state are you in? It matters because laws vary by location. What steps have you taken so far? Anything else you want the lawyer to know before I connect you?

My boss grabbed my hand and put it on a heater, causing second-degree burns. I have discussed this with HR and they filed a report. I don't belong to a union and am scared of retaliation at work. What are my options?

I live in Louisiana and owned a 2004 Honda Accord originally registered in Florida. We moved to Louisiana in 2014 and registered the car there. My son was ticketed for an expired registration in Ithaca, NY, in October 2014. He now needs proof that the car was registered in Louisiana to lift a suspension on his license. How can we obtain this proof of registration for 2014?

How can I ask a question online in a way that can protect me from the post being used against me in the future? I'm in a situation where I need help and advice, but I'm also scared that if I post online, that my post may eventually be tied to me in the future and that could be used against me. How can I post on an online forum in a way that can't be used against me in the future?

I have a case in Federal Court for fraud. The owner of the company was released from prison and not allowed to own a business. He claimed the machine I had was his. After discovering the defendant's criminal status and business ownership restriction, I filed my suit. However, the judge has halted the case and will not rule on Summary Judgment. Is there any way I can get the judge to rule?

I have an existing employment agreement with my employer that automatically extends for successive one-year terms unless either party gives written notice at least 60 days prior to the end of the current term. In late January 2019, I received a letter stating that the agreement would be terminated on April 1, 2019 due to a change in the employer's business structure. Am I obligated to give any further notice, or can I simply return my key and leave when the agreement terminates on March 29, 2019?
