If I'm in default on a loan with collateral involved, does the lender need to go to court before they take the collateral (car)? What if I didn't get a notice? If I go into bankruptcy, how is the car given back? If I have a lien on my condo, does the court allow for the sale of the property rather than a foreclosure, if all the proceeds go to the lender?

I own rental properties in Harrisburg, PA, with mortgages in arrears. The attorney for the seller, from whom I purchased the properties, has sent me letters to stop the management company from sending me the rents. He has threatened foreclosure but no papers have been served or filed with the courts. I am in the process of selling these properties with a pending contract awaiting financing and doing repairs. Does the attorney have the legal right to stop my receiving rent from my management company, and can they intercept the sale?

My girlfriend lost her job due to Hurricane Florence in Wilmington, NC, and her auto loan company, Alliance, has denied her request for further payment deferrals. They are threatening to repossess her car. Is there anything we can do to have them defer payments longer, especially given that NC is still in a state of emergency and many people have lost their jobs due to the hurricane?

I'm taking over a department and want to ensure our payroll deductions are legal. Specifically, our salesmen can order items on our account for resale, and if an item isn't sold, the company wants to deduct $25/week from the employee's paycheck to cover the invoice. Is this legal, and are there any steps we should take before beginning deductions?

I have a 2013 Nissan Sentra and owe $14,000 on it, but it's only worth $5,500. I want to turn it in to the credit union. Can they come after me for the difference, and what will it do to my credit report if they are currently not reporting my payments?

I am a landlord in Washington State trying to evict a tenant for non-payment. I have served a 3-day notice, the summons, and the complaint. The process server was unable to serve in time for the original show cause date, so I changed the date with the court and need to serve again. Do I need to update the Motion for Show Cause Hearing with the new date and resubmit it to the court? Additionally, there was another person who accepted the initial 3-day notice from the process server, so I added them in the 'all other occupants' fields. Do they need to be served as well?
